TD Joins as Presenting Sponsor for the 2025 FVCDC Family Picnic

The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre (FVCDC) is proud to announce TD Bank Group as the Presenting Sponsor for the 2025 FVCDC Family Picnic, taking place Friday, June 27, 2025, at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford.

As one of FVCDC’s most cherished annual events, the Family Picnic is a free, inclusive gathering for families currently receiving support services through the organization. It’s a chance to connect, play, and celebrate the strength of community. With TD’s generous support, this year’s event promises to be the most engaging and memorable yet.

A Shared Vision for Stronger Communities

This partnership was made possible through the TD Ready Commitment, the bank’s corporate citizenship platform focused on helping people and communities thrive. By funding local initiatives that foster inclusion, belonging, and meaningful community connection, TD is helping FVCDC create a space where families feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

“We’re incredibly grateful to TD for joining us in this work,” said Karen Dickenson Smith, CEO of FVCDC. “The Family Picnic is all about building community and creating joyful experiences for the children and families we serve. TD’s support helps us bring that vision to life.”

Thank You to the TD Team

FVCDC extends heartfelt thanks to the individuals at TD who made this partnership possible:

  • Paul Whitehead, Executive Vice President – Branch Banking

  • Neda Hadizadeh, District Vice President – Fraser Valley

  • Ankit Dhadwal, Branch Manager – Abbotsford Main

  • Rajpreet Bhuller, Assistant Branch Manager

  • Junius Pereira and Nisha Virk, Managers of Customer Experience

Their belief in the importance of inclusive community support is reflected not only in this sponsorship, but in the shared values that make this collaboration a natural fit.

What the Picnic Supports

Each year, FVCDC’s Family Picnic provides an accessible and welcoming experience for hundreds of families across Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, and the Fraser Cascades. These families are raising children with support needs, and rely on services such as speech therapy, occupational and physical therapy, family support programs, and inclusive early intervention. The picnic is an extension of FVCDC’s commitment to building community alongside these vital services.
