School Aged Speech & Language Services
The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre is providing fee for service Speech and Language Assessment and Therapy for school-aged children and youth. Services are provided by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant virtually or in person.
The FVCDC’s Speech and Language Services Are:
- Available to all school-aged children and youth in the Fraser Valley, provided in either our Abbotsford or Chilliwack office
- Complementary to and coordinated with an established school-based therapy plan if one is already in place
- Flexible, with some after school and summer therapy hours available

What Does Assessment Include?
We are able to provide a speech and language assessment which is as comprehensive or brief as your child needs. Assessment includes both formal and informal measures and incorporates your observations of your child’s communication skills. Assessment always includes documentation of results and may, if you wish, include a follow-up session with consultation and home activities.
What Does Therapy Look Like?
We begin with an evaluation of your child’s speech and language development, if one has not already been completed. Goals are then formulated based on your priorities and your child’s current strengths and needs. Therapy sessions are designed to actively engage your child in learning. Parents are encouraged to participate in sessions so that learning can be reinforced outside of therapy sessions.
