Keeping Babies Safe Program

As a parent or caregiver of a baby, do you ever feel frustrated? Perhaps your baby won’t stop crying, no matter what you do. Or you feel that you lack the proper skills to care for your infant. If so, the Keeping Babies Safe Program (KBS) can help.

Consultants from the KBS provide you with immediate assistance, increasing your ability to provide competent care for your baby. For example, they’ll reassure you that sometimes it’s fine to put a crying baby in a safe place and walk away. Or they’ll warn you that shaking your baby is dangerous and can cause serious injury or death.

Services

Specifically, the Keeping Babies Safe consultants can help you by:

  • Sharing general advice with you about child development and safety.
  • Coaching and teaching you how to calm and sooth babies.
  • Helping you develop strategies to cope with other common challenges.
  • Loaning of special equipment as necessary.
  • Connecting you with other parents and caregivers as well as with other community services and resources.

All services are voluntary and provided free of charge.
