COMOX VALLEY CHILD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR



The Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) is seeking an energetic, visionary Executive Director to oversee all facets of a well-established community-based non-profit association. The CVCDA has offered services to children with special needs and their families since 1974, and currently serves up to 500 children annually. Services are offered for children from birth to nineteen years of age, and funding is through ministry contracts, individualized funding for parents of children with autism, BC Gaming and fund-raising. The annual operating budget is $ 2,750,000 and there are 30-35 staff members. The Executive Director reports to the volunteer Board of Directors.

The Executive Director is responsible for all facets of the operations; CARF accreditation, personnel, financial, service delivery, public relations, and liaison with ministry officials, community members and service organizations. The successful applicant will be skilled at proposal writing, the development of promotional policy and materials, and policy development. Financial expertise must include experience with fund accounting, and superior financial skills. At least five years supervisory experience of at least 15 people in a unionized work environment (HEABC is the CVCDA employer representative and HSA is the employee representative) and an effective long-term reporting relationship to a Board of Directors or a comparable reporting relationship is a requirement.
