FVCDC Accreditation
In February of 2007, surveyors from CARF spent three days with our teams: visiting our three locations, attending home visits, observing services, and interviewing parents, community partners and staff. As a result the FVCDC received a three year accreditation. This is the second survey for the agency resulting in a three year accreditation.
When a service or program is CARF accredited, it means it has passed an in-depth review of its services. The program meets rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality-it is a qualified endorsement that the programs conform to national and international service standards.
At the FVCDC accreditation means:
- Families and caregivers are involved in service planning for their child.
- We respect and preserve confidentiality. Families and caregivers are informed of their rights during our initial contact.
- All persons are treated with dignity and respect.
- Cultural and individual preferences are respected.
- Families and caregivers are informed of our complaints resolution process. If there is a complaint or concern it is dealt with without repercussions to the complainant.
- We are knowledgeable of community resources that may be helpful to you.
- We have qualified staff and provide ongoing opportunities for continued training and education.
- We are accountable to our funding sources, referral agencies and the community.
- We address health and safety concerns such as: building safety and emergency preparedness.
- We strive to eliminate barriers to receiving service.
- Our management practices are efficient, cost effective and based on outcomes and consumer satisfaction.
Services and programs at the FVCDC that are accredited include: Infant Development, Supported Child Development, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Family Services, Key Workers, Next Step Autism and the Fraser Health Assessment Clinic.
