Aboriginal Infant Development Program

The AIDP serves Aboriginal children (on or off reserve) from birth to three years of age who are at risk for, or who have a delay in development.

Consultants help families learn how to encourage their child’s development. They work closely with other professionals, and referrals may be made for therapy as needed. All services are family-centered — families help plan and set goals. Culturally sensitive AIDP consultants provide the services in the family home.

Our Mission

“Every child is a unique gift from the Creator: The AIDP’s mission is to honour this gift by supporting the development of Aboriginal children within the context of the family, community and culture and by offering access to culturally appropriate early intervention support programs.”
--Diana Elliott, Provincial Advisor, Aboriginal Infant Development Programs
